Technology Day

We were working hard on technology day. We had to build a bridge that was long, strong and wouldn't break. It had to hold six boxes of raisins. It was hard work on technology day but it was also really fun.

Our bridge won an award for being the longest bridge on technology day.

Our bridge could hold two shoes and a pair of scissors. A drink bottle was too heavy and it broke. We had to rebuild it three times.

Our bridge collapsed two times. The way we made it strong was to use string for the base.

We
We used string under the bridge so it wouldn't collapse. We used lots of newspaper to keep it strong and cello tape to keep it together. It could hold six boxes of raisins.

We put layers of news paper on top of each other. It could hold four shoes. We had to rebuild it about five or six times because we didn't agree on which one we liked. We won an award for the most original bridge.

Drawing Mrs Robertson

The teachers were not safe!

Ross Kinnaird drew cartoons of two of our lovely teachers. They look fabulous!

Mrs Robertson

And Mrs Collins.

Ross Kinnaird

We were very lucky to be visited by the fantastic and funny illustrator Ross Kinnaird. He drew pictures showed us his books and answered lots of our questions.

Crazy Creatures

Ross Kinnaird said the fun thing about being an illustrator was that you get to draw what ever you want and make it look the way you want it to.  He asked for our suggestions about two animals he could draw together. There was a lion snake, a dolphin cat and this one of a horse and emu.
