Words about weather

Have you seen the weather before on the TV?

Read this if you don't know what weather words mean.

Pressure is the Air pressing and pushing.

Gravity is the force of the earth that makes things fall to the ground.

Humidity is the amount of water vapour in the air.

Hail is frozen rain that falls from the sky.

Water vapour is a form of gas.

Smog is a dirty fog made by pollution.

Isobars are a line on a weather map that tells you how strong the wind is.

The closer together, the stronger the wind.

The Atmosphere is a bubble of air around the earth.

A gale is a really strong wind.

The Temperature is how hot or cold it is.

The dew is tiny bits of water on the grass. You might think dew is rain on the grass.

What questions do you have about the weather?

Have you heard any of these words before?

Do you know what these words mean now?
